Approach by car :
If driving from Alicante or Valencia we need to get to the town of Castalla. By the entrance of Castalla, before crossing the town we drive up to the left handside and take the CV-817 road towards Xorret de Catí area, following indications. After driving up the road by a fairly steepy road, the way down begins and in over 2 km we will arrive at the Hotel parking area that is easy to identify because there is a big car park lot fiting 30-40 cars and even buses. From this parking there are indications of how to access the via ferrata.
Approach start ferrata :
From the parking lot just 100 meters away, leaving the hotel on the right and continuing towards Petrer (left), the opposite direction for which we have come, there is a dirt track on the right with indications of Via ferrata, viewpoint and different paths, the track is ascending and takes us after a couple of direct curves on foot of the mountain, after passing through a dry fountain and a viewpoint, the indications leave us on foot of the ferrata.
Description of the Ferrata :
The beginning of the ferrata is quite explosive, since it starts with a small crash, just 3 meters from the beginning and then is gradually taking height with vertical and horizontal sections. The state of the installation is Good in general. And in addition there are several natural grip points to assure your hands and feet. At the end of the ferrata we will find a handrail that leads us to the return path. The views are magnificent.
Return :
You can go down with two 25-meter rappels or by path wich is marked with PR signals. It is quite steepy and going down through a channel, then it leaves us again near the main viewpoint area.
